Bio
After a first professional experience at Winston & Strawn LLP in Geneva (2006), Dimitri Iafaev worked as a trainee lawyer at Schwab Flaherty Hassberger & Crausaz (2006-2007) and Chabrier & Associés (2007-2008) in Geneva.
Dimitri passed his Bar exam in June 2009. and then he joined Lalive as an associate. He specialized in litigation, in particular in the areas of international arbitration, economic criminal law and international mutual assistance.
Dimitri defends with his partners a humanist conception of the lawyer practice, privileging the contact with the client as well as a personalized approach of the cases.
Dimitri is active in various fields of the law, including economic criminal law, civil and commercial litigation and immigration law. He also practices in commercial law and contract law.
He has notably defended several companies as civil parties in complex criminal cases. He regularly advises companies and individuals in the field of international trade and defends theirs interests in civil courts.
He is a member of the Geneva Bar Association (ODA) and the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA).
Dimitri is fluent in French, Russian, English and German.
